Spring / Summer 2015

Exciting news! This year we will be hosting our first dog show. It will be at the League of Friends Summer Fete in Tilehurst on 6th June.

There will be 3 classes you can enter; Best Girl, Best Boy & Waggiest Tail. The dog show will be on between 3-4pm and there is a goodie bag for everyone who enters. There are also some great stalls that you might want to visit a little earlier in the day.

Walk with Confidence

Our Walk with Confidence sessions have been a big hit but we still have spaces available on upcoming dates over the Summer. Don't forget, that if you want to book on to a course, you will also receive your usual discount from the cost. You can find out all of our upcoming dates online.

Staying safe

As we approach the Summer months it is important to keep our dogs cool on hot days. During our walks, we aren't always able to avoid the middle of the day but we will always try keep to the shaded areas as much as we can and avoid over-exertion. We also carry water on board the vans and will double check water bowls on our return. Be assured that we will keep their time in the vans to a minimum during pick ups and drop offs.

Reading Dog Owners

Calling all Reading Dog Owners! There is now a Facebook group called Reading Dog Owners which is a really useful resource to share stories about your dog, discuss new walks, help reunite missing dogs in the area and keep up to date with local information that is useful for us dog owners. Come and join a friendly network of local people.

If you have booked a Summer holiday or a long weekend away, please let us know if you need to cancel or rearrange any walks during that time.

Don't forget we also offer weekend walks at your standard walking rate, so if you're just after a long day out, we can help with walks so you don't have to rush back.

Show dates

Along with hosting our first dog show in Tilehurst, we will also be at the Mortimer Fun Day in July. It's a great chance for us to have a chat with you and enjoy the sunshine. We hope to see you there.

Did you know?

Did you know that a dog wagging it's tail, doesn't always mean it is happy? A wagging tail can mean many different things from excitement, arousal, anxiety and fear so it's important to learn how to read your dogs' body language. Dr Sophia Yin has a great selection of free downloads available to learn more about body language and interactions with dogs.
